The Rings of Power Season 1ended strongly. Lets just say that by the end of the story, not only had Sauron been unmasked but Gandalf had been revealed, but the elves had also found time to rescue their race by crafting some elaborate jewelry.
These rings are more than simply jewelry, of course. Even though they have a significant role in Tolkien canon, they face many challenges on the road to that point.
Theres bound to be trouble on the horizon now that Sauron has returned and set his sights on Middle-earth, but when will we finally find out the outcomes of the teaser-ending cliffhangers that showrunners Patrick McKay and JD Payne teased us with?

The Rings of Power Season 2: Potential Release Date
Those who were worried about the future of The Rings of Power can relax now. The second season has already been ordered for their favorite fantasy show. Even better is that production has already begun.
While the return to production in early October 2022 indicates progress is being made, it may be some time before a second season actually airs.
While the Covid-19 pandemic definitely contributed to the first seasons 18-month production time, the shows high production quality certainly had something to do with it as well.
Yes, I can see why that might be the case. The show is visually stunning, and Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke has stated that the company will not rush the production process.
Salke told the media:
Shorter seasons are preferable, but we must maintain a good standard. Itll take as long as it takes, but these guys have been writing nonstop during their break because of the seriousness of the situation. There is a lot of momentum behind us.
Taking everything into account, we wouldnt expect anything until the end of 2023, and if were being pragmatic, its more likely to premiere in the spring of 2024.

The Rings of Power Season 2: Cast
Youre a slippery eel, Halbrand. There was widespread speculation that the king of the Southlands was actually Sauron in disguise; now that we know for sure, Charlie Vickers will definitely reprise his role as the monarch. This means that Adar will be quite busy, thus the return of Joseph Mawle is also anticipated.
As long as she has breath in her, we will continue to welcome Morfydd Clark back to the role of Galadriel because elves dont die easily. She has much vengeance to exact against Sauron for his trickery and manipulation, and she intends to do so.
The Stranger (Daniel Weyman), also known as The Meteor Man or, dare we say it, freaking GANDALF, was an unforgettable character. Its obvious that the wizard they refer to in the last scene is actually Gandalf the Grey. Were going to require additional work from him.
Its highly possible that Maxim Baldry and Lloyd Owen will return to their roles as Isildur and his father Elendil in The Lord of the Rings films, given they play pivotal parts in the plot as told in flashback scenes.

A report from the media claims that Cardan, one of the oldest elves in Middle-earth, will be appearing in Season 2. The part has not been cast, but Crdan will be making his first live-action appearance, so he should be a welcome addition.

The Rings of Power Season 2: Speculated Plot
Aside from that, we know only one thing for sure: in Season 2, the oldest and wisest of the elves, Crdan, will be introduced to the plot by Prime Video. Crdan will play a significant role in Middle-history, earths but he hasnt been cast yet.
Crdan and his people established the Grey Havens in the Second Age, and it was there that they constructed the ships that would eventually transport the elves to the Undying Lands.
Crdan, who possessed the gift of prophecy, donned the Elven ring Narya, fought alongside High King Gil-galad in the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, and governed the Grey Havens in the Third and Fourth Ages.
In a recent interview with Esquire, the showrunners provided some hints about the future of the plot. For Galadriel, who has been tricked and wooed by Sauron, only gloomy times lay ahead.
According to what Payne told Esquire, a reckoning is necessary. We witness her give the go-ahead to build the rings despite knowing that Sauron was involved in the science behind their creation. She, too, is responsible: I gave the Dark Lord his power. I rescued him while we were both floating on a raft.
I saw him rise from relative obscurity to command an army. She has a lot of responsibility and internal conflict to deal with. I suppose shell have to pick up the pieces and deal with the consequences of her choices in her many relationships. McKay said, Her facing the consequences of that has not ended yet, after Elrond found evidence that Galadriel had hidden information from him.

Remember how Galadriel casually said in Episode 7 that she had been married before? It seems that the nugget will also be revisited in the future. Payne told Esquire, We wanted to let people know that there is an element of Celeborn that could become essential later on.
We didnt just cross him off the list as dead. We leave it as an ellipsis when she says, I never saw him again. But if her true love is still in the world, then the return of that feeling will be like a freight train smashing into her.
After establishing her character through her interactions with Sauron, Elrond, and even Gil-Galad, subsequent seasons will allow us to see how her interactions with other characters, like Celeborn, will further flesh out her character.

Theres a song towards the end of the eighth episode sung by Fiona Apple and arranged by Bear McCreary that contains the ring poem. Each grouping of ringsseven rings, nine rings, or one ringcould mark a different stage in the story and a different stage in Saurons evolution throughout the Second Age.
In the eighth episode itself, there are clues about the storys potential future direction. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Payne hinted that Sauron might play a more prominent role in the upcoming second season. Who is Galadriel? is the first question asked in Season 1.
