Jurassic Movies in Order: The Jurassic Park films are largely responsible for our memories of the majestic, enormous, and ferocious prehistoric beasts known scientifically as dinosaurs. These films are one of the reasons why there are so many dinosaur enthusiasts among us now, and the franchise is still going strong, just like the cloned dinosaurs.
It all began with Steven Spielbergs Jurassic Park, based on Michael Crichtons novel of the same name. The film was a worldwide phenomenon upon its initial release in 1993 and is currently regarded as one of the greatest films of the 1990s.
Two sequels followed, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Jurassic Park III (2001). The saga continues in 2015 with the release of Jurassic World, despite the fact that the sequels failed to recapture the magic of the original picture. In 2018, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released, followed by Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022.
Jurassic Park and Jurassic World Movies in Chronological Order
There are currently no prequels, therefore the best method to see the films is in chronological order. We have not included spin-offs such as Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020 present) because they have yet to have a major impact on the main storyline (you can read about how Camp Cretaceous overlaps and references the Jurassic films here), but we have included the short film Battle at Big Rock because it has significant implications for the Jurassic World storyline.

1. Jurassic Park

2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park
The second film in the series, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, begins four years after the first and depicts John Hammonds loss of control over InGen. Nonetheless, he was able to conceal the presence of a second island, Isla Sorna, which was used for dinosaur breeding. It was part of a cover-up that concealed the failure of Hammonds prior effort from the entire globe.
Hammond re-enlists Ian Malcolm to visit the second island with a new crew after an incident on the second island. They clash with the new owners of InGen when they attempt to smuggle dinosaurs into their own park. The picture was a box office triumph and was also nominated for an Oscar Award.
3. Jurassic Park III
Steven Spielberg is replaced by Joe Johnston as director for the concluding film in the Jurassic Park trilogy, Jurassic Park III (The Rocketeer). Dr. Alan Grant is researching the intelligence of Velociraptors but is struggling to secure funding for his new endeavor. William H. Macy and Tea Leoni play Paul and Amanda Kirby, who lure him into joining their trip.
The pair agrees to sponsor Grants research in exchange for an aerial tour to Isla Sorna, the island from The Lost World. Even though the picture was successful at the box office, it is the lowest-grossing movie in the series.
4. Jurassic World
The production of Jurassic World was meant to begin in 2004, but delays put the film in development purgatory for a decade. Jurassic World is the fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise and the first in the Jurassic World trilogy. It was directed by Colin Trevorrow. Set 22 years after the Jurassic Park trilogy, the tale follows Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan), CEO of the Masrani Global Corporation, who purchased InGen in 1997 to construct Jurassic World, an upgrade on John Hammonds Jurassic Park.
Similar to the original film, a seemingly ordinary day goes awry when the parks newest attraction, Indominus Rex, escapes its enclosure and causes havoc. The film was the third highest-grossing film of its day, generating $1.6 billion globally at the box office.

5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the sequel to Jurassic World and the fifth film in the Jurassic Park franchise. The film, directed by J.A. Bayona, depicts the dinosaurs four years after their escape from Jurassic World living quietly without human interference until tales of a volcanic eruption endanger the life of these majestic beasts and lure humanity back to the island. In this film, Jeff Goldblum reprises his iconic role as Ian Malcolm from the Jurassic Park trilogy for the first time since The Lost World.
6. Jurassic World: Dominion
Jurassic World: Dominion takes place four years after the events shown in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Dinosaurs now roam the earth and coexist with humans on every continent. Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm return for the conclusion of the Jurassic World franchise, joining Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) in the battle to save humanity.
