They stated, Geoff had an energizing and spiritual connection to music that rubbed off on everybody fortunate enough to witness him perform. He consistently inspired us to achieve heights we had never imagined.
Through his performances, teaching, advocacy, and friendship, he touched countless lives in his home base at Stanford University, at the Spoleto USA Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, in Canada, and in many other parts of the world. We will miss him every day, but are incredibly glad to have been his traveling companion.
His wife and violinist Livia Sohn, his children Jack and Ellis, as well as his mother and sister, survive him.
