Venom 3 Confirmed Officially by Sony

Venom 3 Confirmed: I can’t wait for the next Venom movie to arrive! Sony Pictures today officially stated that Venom 3 is on the road during their CinemaCon presentation. Onscreen, Tom Hardy was Eddie Brock, a journalist who takes on the role of Venom after being infected by an extraterrestrial symbiote. Fans can only hope for a third instalment in the series, but no cast or release date has been revealed.

Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage were both critically acclaimed and financially successful films, so this development comes as no surprise to fans. Venom generated a stunning $856 million in revenue from local and foreign markets in 2018, while Venom: Let There Be Carnage is expected to make $502 million worldwide by the end of the decade.

Venom, a beloved Marvel character, made his live-action debut in Spider-Man 3 in 2007, with Eddie Brock, played by Topher Grace, as the character’s protagonist. Then, in 2018, Hardy stepped up to the plate, not only portraying Eddie, but also voicing the symbiote in his own whimsical and caustic rendition of the character’s voice. The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde approach to the Marvel character proved to be a successful formula, as fans grew to appreciate the interaction between a caustic Venom and his rough-and-tumble host.

At the conclusion of Let There Be Carnage, we saw Eddie and Venom enjoying a relaxing vacation, which was shortly disrupted by some interdimensional antics. Eddie watched as J. Jonah Jameson revealed Peter Parker’s true identity as Spider-Man as he transitioned into a another reality. Then, in a quick cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, we saw Eddie sipping a drink in an MCU bar, completely baffled as to where he was, while Spider-Man battled his gang of rogues in the background. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) uses his magic to repair the wrongs and make the world forget about Peter Parker, and as a result, all of the rogues, including Eddie, are sent back to their own universes. Eddie, on the other hand, accidentally leaves a piece of the Venom symbiote behind after he has finished his drink.
