The Flash Movie Release Date: The Flash’ is a superhero film that will be released in 2022 and is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. DC Extended Universe: The Eleventh Chapter will be the eleventh instalment of the DC Extended Universe.
Gardner Fox, Christina Hodson, and Harry Lampert collaborated on the script, which was directed by Andy Muschietti. How about the film itself? What can we expect from it? Here’s what we know thus far about the situation.
All About The Flash Movie!
Previously announced, the film would be based on the events of the Flashpoint comic book, which chronicles the creation of an alternate reality as a result of the Flash’s effort to travel back in time to save his mother.
This is an interesting idea, to say the least, because Miller believes that “our precious DC world will ultimately be ripped asunder to an endless, headache-inducing fabric of multiversality,” as he puts it.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Andy Muschietti has stated that the film is “a bit of a hinge in that it presents a story that implies a unified universe in which all of the cinematic iterations that we’ve seen before are valid,” which is in reference to the multiverse that will reportedly be explored in the film.
To paraphrase him, “it’s inclusive in the sense that it is asserting the existence of the same unified universe for everything you have seen and everything you will see in the future.”
The Flash Movie Cast
According to prior reports, Ezra Miller will portray Barry Allen / The Flash in the new television series, which will premiere in 2019. In order to accommodate scheduling conflicts, Billy Crudup has been forced to resign from his role as Barry’s father Henry. Instead, Ron Livingston will take up the part, and he will be accompanied by Pan’s Labyrinth actress Maribel Verd, who will play Barry’s mother Nora in the film.
It has been reported that Kiersey Clemons would resume her role as Barry’s love interest Iris West in the upcoming season of The Flash. Kieran Clemons, the director of Justice League, shot scenes that were eventually eliminated from the theatrical cut, but which were then reinserted in the disputed Snyder Cut, which has now been made accessible to the public.
There is now a little more clarity around who is in command of the camera equipment and who is not in charge of it. A number of other names have been connected to the project, including Andy Muschietti, who helmed both sides of the recent big-screen version of Stephen King’s IT, and Christina Hodson (Bumblebee), who will direct from a script written by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee).
While there has been no official word on the remainder of the cast, it was announced in August 2020 that past Batmans Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton would be resuming their roles as the Caped Crusader in the film, which was welcomed with a lot of anticipation.
Muschietti described Affleck’s participation as “a very important component of the emotional effect of the picture,” and the actor’s performance as “a very substantial portion of the emotional impact of the film,” in an interview with Vanity Fair. It is expected that the contact and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne would reach a level of emotional intensity that has never been witnessed before in the franchise.
Affleck talked about the film in an interview with Variety, saying, “It was a very nice way to replicate that experience because the prior experience had been horrific.”
The Flash Movie Plot
According to a promo for the DC FanDome 2021, The Flash is mainly based on the 2011 DC event series Flashpoint. Barry Allen uses his super-speed to travel back in time during that narrative, preventing his mother’s death from occuring while he was still a small boy.
When he returns to the present, he realises that much has changed. In the film adaptation, it looks as though Barry will be able to control time and space and summon Michael Keaton’s Batman from Tim Burton’s legendary Tim Burton films.
This parallel universe also has a new version of Supergirl and at least one alternate Barry. Flash will also receive a sleek new outfit in the film, replacing the one he worn in Justice League.
