CBS has renewed the Survivor TV show for a 43rd and 44th season, which will air during the network’s 2022-23 broadcast season.
The contract has been renewed, which comes as no surprise. Survivor, which airs twice per broadcast season, is still one of the network’s most popular unscripted programming. Casting for Survivor Season 43 has already begun before to the announcement.
What is the premise of Survivor?
Jeff Probst hosts the Survivor TV show, which is a reality competition series. The 42nd season was shot over 26 days in Fiji (rather than the standard 39). The 18 contestants battle in three teams for a $1 million reward and the title of Sole Survivor: VATI Tribe (Green), TAKU Tribe (Orange), and IKA Tribe (Blue).
Some of the castaways are Jenny Kim, Chanelle Howell, Lydia Meredith, Mike Turner, Daniel Strunk, Hai Giang, Marya Sherron, Lindsay Dolashewich, Maryanne Oketch, Jackson Fox, Jonathan Young, Drea Wheeler, Tori Meehan, Swati Goel, Rocksroy Bailey, Romeo Escobar, and Zach Wurtenberger.
Survivor is “a top 25 broadcast, with 7.59 million viewers in the fall,” and “is CBS’ most-streamed reality series on Paramount+, with streaming viewership up +199 percent from the previous fall season,” according to CBS.
A group of strangers is placed in an isolated location and must care for themselves by supplying food, fire, and shelter. In exchange for awards and immunity from elimination, the participants compete in activities that challenge their physical capabilities, such as swimming and running, as well as their mental abilities, such as puzzles and endurance trials.
The contestants are gradually eliminated from the game as their fellow contestants vote them out until only one is left, who is named “Sole Survivor” and awarded the grand prize of $1,000,000 ($2,000,000 in Winners at War).

A link in the center of CBSSurvivorcasting.com leads to a video file in which the casting director explains exactly what they’re searching for in a survivor.
“Listen carefully to what’s being said. Don’t think about anything else; simply follow their instructions. They’re simply curious to learn more about you.” There are no longer excuses; now is the time to submit your application.”

Survivor Season 43 Application Rules
Survivors must be 16 years old or older and hold a valid passport from either the United States or Canada to be eligible. After completing the application in its entirety, only those individuals who CBS is interested in moving on to the next casting phase will receive phone calls.
Due to the large number of applications, casting directors will not be able to contact each applicant individually. If an applicant has already applied for Survivor, the casting team recommends that they make a new video and reapply for a future season.
Each season’s audition films and applications are preserved, and applicants must reapply and submit new videos as requested by the casting site for each new season.
“However, you are not need to apply again if you applied within the previous 12 months.” All of the submissions have been saved for future use. After the site is upgraded in the fall, you’ll be able to apply again.”
