Shazam 2 Release Date: Despite the fact that everyone is raving about Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which was recently released on streaming platforms and has a four-hour running length, it’s time to get back to business with the DC Universe franchise’s upcoming theatrical releases.
Shazam was released in early 2019, and many people commended it for being a breath of fresh air after the darker tone of many of the previous DC film entries.
It’s hardly surprising that fans were clamouring for a sequel even before the credits rolled. It’s difficult to fathom why, given that the script was fresh and amusing, and the acting was superb.
As it turns out, there will be a sequel, and while specifics on the film are scant for the time being, we have enough information to be excited about it, with one piece of casting news in particular sparked our attention.
Shazam 2 Release Date
Shazam! 2 Fury of the Gods was one of the few rays of light for DC movie fans in March 2022, when the studio released a torrent of awful news. Warner Bros. has confirmed that the release dates for many of its high-profile movies set for 2022 have been moved back, according to Deadline.
Both The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have been delayed until 2023. Black Adam’s release date has been pushed back from July 2022 to October 2022, while DC League of Super-Pets’ release date has been pushed back from May 2022 to July 2022.
Meanwhile, Shazam! 2: Fury of the Gods’ release date has been pushed back from June 2, 2023 to December 16, 2022, bringing it closer to the holidays. Despite the fact that the studio has yet to offer an official explanation for the changes, Deadline says that unidentified sources have stated that the delays are the result of Covid.
According to the source, production on Shazam! 2 is wrapped, which is why Warner Bros. is shifting the picture ahead to the “Christmas corridor” in the hopes of recouping some of the money they lost on Aquaman 2, which was initially set for that time frame.
Shazam Fury Of The Gods Plot
The majority of the storyline details of the film have been kept from the public. It is possible, however, that this will change in the near future. Production is now set to begin in May, and we usually start getting more narrative details as soon as filming begins – so hopefully, we’ll have a lot more to talk about in the coming months – might we be in for a Black Adam appearance, for example?
It is time to unleash the Shazam Fury Of The Gods
This sequel to Shazam! is intended to feature all of the characters from the original film. As a result, Asher Angel, who played Billy Batson in Chuck, will reprise his role in the next film with Zachary Levi. Other than Marta Milans, Rachel Zegler and Faithe Herman, the film has Jack Dylan Grazer as a lead actor.
Dame Helen Mirren joining the cast is the most fascinating casting announcement to yet. Because she is such an amazing option, we are even more excited by the casting of Mirren as the story’s nemesis, Hespera.
Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam is another popular expectation among fans, and it looks that he will make a cameo in the film, considering that the character is also receiving his own independent feature from DC and that the two characters have a lengthy history of working together in the comics.
Shazam! 2 Is Supposed to Include a New Cast of Villains
Helen Mirren, who will play Hespera, is the most notable addition to the cast. As a villain, she’s had a lot of screen time, and she’s quite gorgeous.
Hespera’s nemesis Kalypso, played by Lucy Liu, will appear alongside Hespera…
As previously revealed, Strong’s Dr. Sivana will be making a comeback. In the mid-credits sequence of the first film, Dr. Sivana had a visit from Mister Mind, therefore it’s possible that the two will work on the sequel. The collection of villains known as The Seven Deadly Sins may or may not appear in the film.
When Is The Trailer of Shazam 2 Coming Out?
A trailer for the sequel has yet to be released because filming has not yet begun, as previously stated. Even if production begins in May, it’s unlikely that we’ll see a genuine trailer for this movie until 2022 or later, given how long it will be until it’s released.
