My Brilliant Friend Season 4: Two New Stars Will Appear in Season 4 Last Season!

The fourth and final chapter will wrap up HBOs My Brilliant Friend, which is based on Elena Ferrantes four-book Neapolitan series. Season 4 of the Italian-language drama will follow Ferrantes The Story Of The Lost Child, which picks up with Elena and Lilas friendship on the rocks in the late 1970s.

This was confirmed by the network in March when the shows renewal was announced. The friendship between the women at its core will remain the common thread despite the various changes the time jump will bring.

Season 4 of My Brilliant Friend Is Expected to Revolve Around What?

Elena Greco and Rafaella Cerullo, two of the closest friends she made during her first year of an elementary school in 1950, were the focus of a brand-new television series that premiered on November 18, 2018. Two childhood friends deal with the difficulties of friendship as they mature and become adults in Naples, Italy.

Following the events of the previous three seasons, Elena and Lilas friendship ends for the first time in the fourth season, which is based on Ferrantes The Story of the Lost Child. If the rumors are accurate, the last season will be based on The Story of a New Name, the series last book, and the conclusion to the tale of Elena and Lilas friendship.

The My Brilliant Friend Season 4 Expected Premiere Date

Season 4 was supposedly already in pre-production as of March 2022, even before HBO made the renewal announcement. Aside from COVID-related hiccups, prior production timetables appear to imply that a season of the drama takes about a year to produce. If the current schedule holds true, viewers can anticipate Season 4 to debut in about February 2023.

My Brilliant Friend Season 4 Cast & Storyline

HBO has yet to reveal the Season 4 cast, which is likely to include the majority, if not all, of new performers. However, fans only get a fleeting glimpse of the new Elena in the Season 3 finale, despite the fact that the actor has been a hidden character in the show since the beginning. Elenas voiceover has been provided by Alba Rohrwacher since the shows HBO debut in 2018. She will replace her as Elena in Season 4. In March, Variety said that The Hand of God actress Luisa Ranieri was a likely candidate for the role of Lila.

HBO, however, has not responded to the casting rumors. Even though Mazzucco read all four books a week before filming began, she revealed to the New York Times that she skipped the fourth books final chapters because she didnt care how it ended. The connections between the characters alter from season to season, and Grace attempted to avoid viewing other characters in a new light because of this, she added.

Elena does indeed state at the beginning of The Story of the Lost Child that although she and her girls returned to Naples, she avoided starting a steady connection with Lila for three years. The womens friendship organically resumes when their families grow, though. The summary of the book states that their friendship has served as the gravitational center of their lives.

The community where they both grew up was a prison of conformity, brutality, and unbreakable taboos, and both women strove to escape it. Elena got married, moved to Florence, had kids, and published a number of well-liked books. She had visited Naples again in this last book, as though pulled there by some mysterious magnetism. Lila, however, was unable to leave the city where she was born.

How that would appear on television in the last season of My Brilliant Friend cannot yet be predicted.
