Euphoria Season 3 Will Have Redemption For Cal

Eric Dane, who plays Cal, believes that in Euphoria season 3, he will find redemption after finally being held accountable for his wicked history.

In Euphoria season 3, Eric Dane claims that his role will be vindicated. In the programme, Dane plays Cal Jacobs, Nate Jacobs’ estranged father. In a fictional Los Angeles county town, a group of 17-year-olds cope with the perils and difficulties of sexual relationships, drug misuse, violence, and various high school dramas in Euphoria by HBO Max creator Sam Levinson. A third season has been ordered for the drama, which has risen to second place on HBO’s list of most viewed shows, behind only Game of Thrones.

Euphoria Season 3 Will Have Redemption For Cal

Season 1 of Euphoria introduced us to Cal, the character played by Dane Savage, who was known for shooting his erotica with transgender and non-binary prostitutes. Seeing as how Nate discovers his dad’s actions with Jules (Hunter Schafer), the father-son bond between Cal and Nate is one of the most tense on the programme. As soon as Nate obtains a hold of his father’s tape of the encounter, which is later stolen and used as blackmail against Nate by his girlfriend, Maddy, the tryst turns into a subject of concern for Cal. A big conflict between father and son occurs when Cal’s attempts to keep Nate out of trouble lead to a drunken outing that ends with Cal confessing his dirty secrets to his family and choosing to leave them.

In the Euphoria season 2 finale, Nate seems to release recordings of Cal’s activities to the police, potentially setting his father up for prosecution. Nathan admits he just wants retribution for his father’s abandonment, while Cal tries to convince his son to keep him out of trouble. Euphoria season 3 is expected to see Cal put up, since he is shown being shackled and brought away in the final scene of the second season. Cal’s journey will continue in the third season, Dane says in an interview with Variety, but he doesn’t necessarily mean that he will remain behind bars.

A question is posed to Dane on Cal’s chances of redemption. Dane confidently assures that he will, saying

There’s gonna be redemption. I mean, that’s the trajectory he’s on. I can’t imagine Cal’s life from solitary confinement. It’s tough to work Cal into the storyline when he’s behind bars.

Dane is a seasoned performer who has starred in several of the films before Euphoria. In the early 2000s, he had recurring roles on Charmed and in X-Men: The Last Stand as Multiple Man. The Last Ship’s Tom Chandler and Grey’s Anatomy’s Dr. Mark Sloan are two of Dane’s best-known performances. Although Euphoria season 3 has been approved, no date has been set for its production to begin or for its release.

Season 1 of Euphoria introduced Cal in a straightforward villain role, but he’s grown into a much more nuanced character by season 2. One of the most memorable monologues in television history was given by Dane in episode 4, when he boozed his way through a dark and dirty past and confronted his two boys and wife with the facts of his secret existence. Cal goes from being an angst-filled enemy to a complicated, troubled, and engaging character as a result of Dane’s career-best moment. Season 3 of Euphoria might go in a number of directions, but as long as Dane remains on board to portray Cal’s journey, it will be well worth watching.
