Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: America Chavez’s MCU Future Is Teased by a Star

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness:  At this point, it’s quite reasonable to assume America Chavez will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe indefinitely. The MCU has established its reputation on long-form storytelling, and the actress playing Chavez — The Baby-Sitters Club alumna Xochitl Gomez — is only 15, making her one of the MCU’s youngest actresses. To summarise, even Gomez believes Chavez will continue to exist for some time.

Gomez believes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is only the beginning for the character, and it’s apparent the character has a future among the Marvel giants in a new interview with Marvel.com.

“You can absolutely see the germs of what a future America may become,” Gomez told the outlet. “I borrowed elements from the comics and softened them up a bit for her inexperience. She is younger than any of her recognised comic book appearances, as I believe you can see.”

As a result, Gomez explained, establishing a younger version of what fans have grown to anticipate from the character was a process. She’s already mastered the art of the Marvel press tour, since she made a point of avoiding any discussion of a Young Avengers team-up.

“It was a fascinating exercise in imagining what a younger, less experienced America would be like, while also hinting at the serious leader she would soon become,” she continued. “I wanted to retain some of that childlike enthusiasm and a smidgeon of that fake-it-till-you-make-it assurance.”

Disney’s official summary for the film

“Strange begs assistance from his comrade Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda, in order to repair a world in which everything is shifting. However, a horrible menace looms over mankind and the entire cosmos, one that they cannot overcome on their own. Even more startling, the universe’s greatest danger resembles Doctor Strange.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to open in cinemas on May 6. Which additional characters do you believe will appear in the future film? Leave your ideas in the comments section below or reach out to our writer @AdamBarnhardt on Twitter to discuss all things MCU!
