Lebron James Controversy: The debate that has arisen as a result of a tweet posted by LeBron James following the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant was not anticipated by many people. Although King James removed the tweet almost immediately, the issue surrounding LeBron James’s deleted tweets continued to garner attention online, with many people continuing to be dissatisfied even after the Los Angeles Lakers star provided an explanation.

Now, in response to the criticism that has been leveled on the NBA legend for his “irresponsible and frightening” stance, a police officer has addressed a letter to him. Here is the complete letter that an Idaho police officer sent to LeBron James on what the NBA star said most recently. According to recent reports on the issue surrounding the deleted tweets of LeBron James, a police officer by the name of Deon Joseph addressed an open letter to James, demanding a conversation with him.

Joseph has an excellent reputation in Los Angeles, and as a result of his efforts in the neighborhood of Skid Row, he is known as an Angel Cop. In the open letter that he wrote, he criticized the NBA star’s attitude, calling it both reckless and unsettling. In a tweet that James has since removed, he attached a photo of Nicholas Reardon, the officer who shot Bryant, and wrote “YOU’RE NEXT. #ACCOUNTABILITY” in the accompanying tweet text. It was then revealed that Reardon had discharged all of his weapons when he witnessed someone trying to knife another person. Joseph wrote to James,

“I don’t know if this will ever reach you, but my hope is that one day I can sit down with you and talk,” adding that he is a man of faith who hopes he can help James understand “the reality of the profession of policing” and how there is another side to the story that he needs to listen to. “I don’t know if this will ever reach you, but my hope is that one day I can sit down with you and talk,” Joseph

“Are you sick of hearing about the deaths of black people? So am I. You abhor bigotry and the violence of the police? So do I,” he stated, adding that one cannot condemn and smear 800,000 men and women belonging to “all ethnicities, beliefs, and sexual orientations” with a “broad and destructive brush” since this would be unfair.

In his subsequent tweets, James expressed indignation about the incident and acknowledged that he should have gathered facts. He maintained his compassion for Bryant and her family following the shooting.

While many considered the problem to be resolved, many have demanded for some time that the NBA punish its great player. Some pushed Reardon to sue James and the NBA, while others begged Twitter to deactivate his account. Some social media users referred to an apparent prejudice that suspends others for the same offense as James.
