Aziz Ansari Controversy: In “Right Now,” Aziz Ansari talks about the sexual misconduct claim against him

Aziz Ansari Controversy: Aziz Ansari, who has made a career out of using comedy to explore modern relationships on Parks and Recreation and Master of None, has been accused of sexual misconduct by an anonymous woman who says she went on a date with him right after the 2017 Emmys.

“Grace,” a 23-year-old photographer, told the website Babe that she met Ansari while she was taking pictures at the after-party for the Emmy Awards. The camera that Ansari had brought them together, and they ended up exchanging phone numbers. The woman claims that Ansari asked her out on a date on September 25.

On the night in question, the two people are said to have met at Ansari’s apartment in Tribeca and then walked to Grand Banks, an oyster bar on a schooner. Grace said that they suddenly left and went back to Ansari’s apartment, where he started kissing her. She told Babe that she didn’t like how quickly things were getting worse. “It happened so fast,” she said. “Except for actual sex, pretty much everything was touched and done within ten minutes of hooking up.”

Grace said she tried to show that she wasn’t interested, but Aziz Ansari kept following her around the apartment like he was running “a football play.” “For 30 minutes, every time I got up and moved, he followed me and stuck his fingers back down my throat,” she said. “It kept going over and over again. It felt like a fucking game.

” She said that he then suggested they move to the couch, where he kept trying to start sex even though she wasn’t interested. “I know my body was sending signals that I wasn’t interested,” she said. I don’t think anyone noticed that at all, or if they did, they didn’t care.”

She tried to tell him that she wasn’t interested by saying, “I don’t want to feel forced because then I’ll hate you, and I’d rather not hate you.” At first, Ansari seemed to understand, but soon after, he kept trying to talk to her.

She said that after he bent her over in front of a big mirror, he didn’t seem to understand until she told him “no” in a strong voice. He told them to “chill out” on his couch. Grace said, “At that point, it really hit me that I had been violated. When we sat down there, I felt very sad all at once. That the whole thing was really terrible.”

After that, Ansari said that she was a car. Grace told me that she cried all the way home. She sent Ansari a text message after the date to tell him how uncomfortable it had made her feel. “Last night might have been fun for you, but it wasn’t for me,” she wrote. When we got back to your place, you didn’t pay attention to clear nonverbal cues and kept making advances.

You must have seen that I wasn’t happy.” She told him she was telling him this so that “maybe the next girl won’t have to cry on the way home.” Ansari is said to have said, “It’s clear that I misunderstood things at the time, and I’m truly sorry.” Grace said to Babe, “I think Aziz took advantage of me.” “I wasn’t heard or cared about. It was by far the worst time I’ve ever had with a man.”

During his live sets and on his show Master of None, Ansari has talked about sexual assault and harassment. During his Madison Square Garden special in 2015, he asked the women in the crowd to raise their hands if they had been followed home by “creepy dudes.” He told the Daily Beast, “As a guy, I’ve learned to just ask women questions and listen to what they have to say.” “The things they tell you will blow your mind. You’ll say to yourself, “What the hell? This is a lot darker than I thought it would be.”
